Action
The
barrel shank area of the action incorporates a full 1 3/16 inch diameter
with 20 threads per inch and a full one inch length of thread
engagement. Breech seating is an internal conical diaphragm providing a
concentricity benefit not matched in any other action. This method also
doubles breech strength and eliminates shoulder crush allowances in
determining headspace. The overall design is extremely rigid to maximize
accuracy and provides for absolute repeatability of seating between
barrels.

Two-piece firing pin design with a small floating tip section
retained in bolt head which maintains contact with the primer. This
means no wasted movement, or cushioning, of the striker blow.
Combined weight of all components is less than one ounce. Lock time
is less than one-half that of a Remington 40x.

The same bolt and receiver assembly can accommodate a wide range of
cartridge types and sizes from the standard .223 case to the .308
family of cases – even out to the magnum dimensions – by easily and
quickly replacing the bolt head.
- Anschutz Precision Components
The Gilkes-Ross rifle incorporates an Anschutz trigger and an
Anschutz-style top rail that accommodates the Anschutz family of
rear sights. Also available is an easily-installed, top-mounted
adapter for the Warner, Redfield and RPA rear sight models.
